How the Journey Really Began...

This journey didn’t just happen overnight… it started with a single, courageous idea. Jayce—an avid young reader with a heart full of stories—decided he wanted to write a book of his own. We sat together and discussed the wonder and responsibility of truly bringing an idea to the world.
We had a very real conversation about what it takes to publish a quality book… including the investment. I wanted him to understand that reaching for the clouds requires both a dream and the willingness to build the wings.
He paused for a second…then went and cracked open his piggy bank like, “Let’s do it.” 🐷💰😂 He was ready to commit his own small treasure to his big vision.
But it gets even better. A few minutes later he came back and said: “Actually… I think I need to make a withdrawal from my savings too.” 😅💳 I had to laugh—sir, not the savings account too! His commitment was as vast as the sky.
From there, his vision—inspired by his very first flight—began to take shape. We chose an illustrator together, and Jayce meticulously picked the colors and outfits for every character. ✍️🎨🌈 His vision was clear from takeoff.
And just like that… his idea took flight ☁️. This book isn’t just a story—it’s what happens when a child believes in their idea enough to invest in it… and then double down. 🛫

About the Book
The Day Jayce Touched the Clouds follows a young boy on his very first airplane ride—an adventure he’s been dreaming about for a long time.

Dr. Christina Ross and Jayce Mathews are an avid reader grandmother and grandson duo who turned our love of books into something special. Jayce dreamed of writing his own story, and with Dr. Christina’s guidance, that dream became real.
